Thumbs up The city that never sleeps

Here's the last of the photos from my session yesterday morning.

All of these taken at ISO1600 (unfortunately).

I really like them, i'll try and print them out - hope they don't come out too grainy.

Comments welcome - interested to hear which one you prefer the most.

Love the 4th one!.. It's cool how the red in the flag shines out, then the opera house in the background. Nice! Sometimes lights aren't all that bad huh?

Honestly Mike they great even in 1600 ISO.
It's not a disaster, OK next time you'll get them perfect but they are really good as is too.

I like the top right and bottom left. Nicely framed.

The first one has too much open sky on the left IMO,

Second one would have been great but too much flaring, try and cup your hand over the lens to stop stray light.

Third one is great.

Fourth and fifth are my favs.

Last one has a bit too much open sky, but almost there with the rule of thirds. Maybe able to crop it.

Well done mate.

All very nice Mike, but the bottom left is my favorite the steep angle of the bridge and walkway fencing draw me to that image.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm really happy with how they turned out, even at ISO1600. I just don't know how they'll look if I print them any larger than 6x4.

My favs are the 4th and 5th shots as well, so I'm glad we're in agreeance for the most part

Mike

I like the third shot - in particular the detail in the wrought iron railing - sweeping into shot.

Very nice - being born in Sydney - you are making me home sick.

Cheers Petra

Bottom left.

Reason: Dunno, just looks the most appealing. And makes the Bridge look more massive.

My photo (#4 above) won a monthly photo challenge contest on CloudyNights! The subject was "Night Photography", which is what inspired me to actually go out and take those shots.

Yay, I finally won one I get to pick the next months subject over there

Well done Mike, and congrats for a stunning nightscape.

Confound them and suggest "Kangaroos in the wild" for the subject for May.....

Cheers
