Norton's still in print?

Hi all, the current (20th) edition of Norton's Star Atlas was printed in 2003 (and a reprint in 2007). Does anyone know if the 21st edition is in the pipeline and when that might be due?
For those who want the first edition, it's free here http://openlibrary.org/books/OL65446...s_and_amateurs
Cheers, Bo

Bo, here is a link to the email address for customer service of the publishers in Australia.

http://www.pearson.com.au/General/Co...rServices.aspx

Maybe ask their intentions regarding future editions.

Michael.

Thanks Michael,
I just emailed Dutton Imprint (part of the Pengiun Group) and also Ian Ridpath (had to give it a go ). Will update when/if I hear back from them.

Ian Ridpath replies

just received this reply from Ian Ridpath re Norton's.
Bo

Dear Mr. Ridpath,
RE Norton’s Star Atlas.
I am in the process of obtaining a copy of Norton’s Star Atlas. I note on your website that the 2003 20th edition (with 2007 reprint from Dutton Imprint) as the most recent.
Are you aware or have been commissioned to edit the 21st edition of Norton’s?
If so, do you know when the 21st might be due?

Dear Bo,

Thanks for your email and your interest in Norton's.

I have not heard from the publishers in a long time and I have no knowledge of their future plans, I'm afraid.

Sorry not to be more helpful.

All the best,
Ian

I hope in some way it can continue. What a classic amongst astro books! I have edition 16 (1973) and still use it today, although it never leaves the house. Along with Burnhams set and Leslie Peltier's Starlight Nights they are three of my most treasured astro publications.
