M20 and M8 : ED80 and P-Flat4 Trial

Recently I purchased a William Optics P-Flat4 flattener for use with my ED120 and ED80. I have not had any success yet with the ED120, however results are looking quite favourable with the ED80. I like the fact that it reduces the focal length of the ED80 to around 450mm, giving it that bit extra widefield. In fact, for the ED120, I will now look for a non reducing flattener, as I want to keep that at 900mm.

So in summary, a quick trial on M8 and M20. The details are as follows,

4x 8 minutes ED80 P-Flat4 and QHY8L (including darks, bias and flats) from metropolitan Adelaide. Stacked in DSS and processed in PS (no cropping of image whatsoever).

Cheers,

Daniel

Cool. Got a P-FLAT IV too. Looks like it's working well for you too.

Nice Danny, I thought I might hear from you yesterday but alas you did not call. We had a few down there. Missed your company.

Colour in this looks good. Larger image would really show off the data.

Friday was the best night Danny. Last night was good, but a little bit of wind about. Mind you the trees on the west side of the block do act as a nice wind break now.

Next time I will try to remember to send you a text.
