Welcome Ziggy Stardust!!!

Hey, Welcome Ziggy Stardust! Where's the Spiders From Mars?

Hope you enjoy your stay with us. This is not like other forum sites, this one is a real community and we try to meet up in person as much as possible.

What gear do you currently have?

hi tony, welcome and yes i have RSA connections, my father is from there.

A lovely part of the world, i went there in '82 when i was 12 and still have vivid memories of the drakensburg mountains!!

I wish i knew some dirty words in afrikaans so i could slip em in hear without incurring the wroth of the bosses up stairs.

Coming to tassie, look us up!!

hey guys thanks for the welcome...

as for the Spiders... hell if you seen them here in WA, you'd know leaving your scope out too cool at night, can get interesting.... one night was focusing and looking down and whhhoioopppsss a nice big one crawled over the main lens

as for the toys.... ok, so what toys do I have...
1x Meade LX 200GPS 12 inch meade, plus loads of extras
1x Helois 150mm ( 6 inch) F12 refractor ( chinese made, but a great scope)
1x Borge Apo 90mm refractor ( also used as a guide scope on Meade 12inch)
1x wide angle bino's.... most used tool!!!
1x nikon 4500 camera dedicated to astro work...

and more len's and toys than I can admit to my wife....

I posted a little "hoe do you do !!!" here by mistake..http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...2446#post82446

but I'll find my way around....

Tony

Jjjnettie, I have been a Duke fan since I first heard him in the seventy's.
my fav track is "Life on Mars" and "Five Years"... and saw him live in Perth last year...

as for fitting in.... it's more like being back in an old favourite glove... good fit, warm and you know where all the feeling is...

thanks for the Big Welcome to all..

now who wants to come play with the 12 inch LX200 around Perth, cause it too much of a back-breaker to log in and out alone most nights ????

Tony

Ziggy,
I'm definately what you would call a fan.
I love his work as an actor as well. " Merry Christmas Mr Laurence" " Labyrinth" and "The Man Who Fell to Earth" being my favorites. My fav. song at the moment is Sound and Vision. I've seen him twice in concert, and like you got blown away by him in the 70's.

Welcome Ziggy - you definately are made of ' The Right Stuff' - as in the movie
i saw the bowie tour last year too - it was simply blinkin AWESOME - go all the old 60 year old dudes! he smoked 2 packs of ciggies a day for most of his life until recently - doubly awesome!!! what an inspiration
how was the lady on bass doing the vocals on a lot of songs Gail Ann Dorsey - including freddie mercury's part in 'under pressure' amongst others - spine tingling stuff
