Am in the process of selling off most of my gear and it's time to say farewell to my trusty ol' EQ6 with tripod and SynScan goto.
Now... to be honest, the tripod's a little rough around the edges. It's seen plenty of use and shows a moderate amount of weathering. That doesn't mean it doesn't work. It does. It just means it is what it is. And that goes for the 2 counterweights.
Having said that, the really important part, the actual mount, is in not bad shape. A few chips here and there...but more importantly, it works like a charm. And after all, that's really what it's all about.
This one comes with the SynScan hand controller (non flash upgradeable) and connector cable, and offers Go-To. It tracks like a champion!
A couple of little issues: the port where you plug the power in is a little twitchy. Anyone with a modicum of electrial/engineering DIY won't find it too much of a challenge to tweak. Also, the hand control has a few 'sticky' buttons...but they work.
Given these minor issues, I'm prepared to let the whole shebang go for $700...
A very affordable way of getting into a GOTO EQ6... and this one works very nicely.
Obviously, given the weight of this beastie...I'd prefer local pickup or can deliver up to a certain distance.
Matt I'd take this off your hands if you were still inthe Canberra region...too bad you're so far away now.
