February Photo Challenge - Entries (Post them here)

The topic this month is: "Things that fly."
Could be something from nature, could be something man made.

As usual, one entry per person and the image must be your own work.
Normal forum image size applies.

The image doesn't necessarily have to have been taken this month but we do encourage you to go out and enjoy the challenge.

Good luck and good shooting.

Bird flying in another element

OK, I will kick off this month's contest with a picture taken today under Rye pier. This gannet shot past me about four metres down in hot pursuit of a fish, which it cornered under the rock. They are incredibly fast & agile underwater & I just managed to get a single shot. So here it is.

What do you call a fly with no wings?

A walk.

Refueling

These little things that fly needed some refueling, my daughter giving some Rainbow Lorikeets small pieces of grape while we were camping at Patonga on the NSW Central Coast.

I have got a loan of a FUJI FILM Finepix S6500fd for this months Photo Challenge because I thought that things that fly would be outside the capabilities of my own camera. I shot these Red Tailed Black Cockatoo's on my way home from dropping my wife off at work they were hanging around at the Mackay Botanical Gardens.

Here's something you don't see every day. A helicopter in the main street of Horsham.

The original picture was taken 25/11/2005.

This fellow landed upside down on my bonnet with his legs in the air. I gave him a life-line with my lens cap which he accepted and posed in gratitude for a few minutes.
