Talking Skyfi - it's arrived

I pre-ordered a Skyfi unit to run the mount from my itouch using Carina software's Skyvoyager app. The first batch was manufactured in early December. Well it was delivered yesterday (Saturday!?!?), a bit of a surprise as I had received no email regarding its shipping. Looking put the window, it'll only be an indoor test until there is something to look at.

Keith,
well done, let us know what it works like.
I had one pre-ordered, to connect the iPhone to the EM200, but decided against it. May have to re-think this if your report indicates it is just the bees knees.

Hi Keith,

Let me add my encouragement for a product review. I too have an iphone and Carina software and would be interested to know how it all works...

I'm a bit disappointed to hear this, as I put my name down for the first batch and to date have heard nothing. Now I see that they've shipped?

EDIT: Sorted....

Glad to hear you got it sorted Chris. Haven't been able to use it seriously as I was using the scope for imaging. I did manage to use it as a remote handset for a bit of slewing and slow speed star centering. Very simple to connect, just turn it on, logon to the skyfi, fire up Skyvoyager and pres the scope icon and you're going. I was surprised at how simple it was, absolutely no faffing around. Next to try will be slewing to targets from the app itself.

Cheers Keith - good to hear that it's nice and simple to use. The sign of good design.

I'm excited to be getting mine - should be here in a few days. I've had great help from Gary Kopff from Wildcard in regards to using it with my Argo Navis-equipped G11. The go is to tell the Argo Navis that it's a classic LX-200, without the GPS. Should work well in pushto mode for me. Can't wait! Gary sounds keen to see how it works too, and I'll put together an article on it when done.
