Lulin just appeared on my camera!

Couldn't see it through the finder, but I guessed I was in the right place and shot some one minute exposures. I could only combine three though.

Baz.

Not bad for three minutes worth Baz. I quite like the framing as it shows the full extent of the Ion tail.

Well done.

Hi Barry,

That's awesome ! Did you just swing the scope around clicking away and hope for the best?

Nice job!

The funny thing is, I was under the impression this comet is just barely visible naked-eye.

I Searched the sky around Saturn with the finder scope and couldnt see anything at all!

In the end, I did a search for the coordinates, entered them in my EQ6 Skyscan, then took a quick 30 second shot. Bang! There it was.

Good capture Baz. The LP of Canberra must be enough to make it invisible to the finder. Now that`s hard work!
cheers

Beautiful catch there Baz. Yes, it wasn't naked eye in western suburban Sydney but nice & big above Saturn in my finderscope. Scooting along fairly fast relative to background stars. Position obviously changed within 30 mins.

Good catch!

That must have been a nice surprise.
