Thanks Graeme. It takes me about 10 seconds to change filters, change gain and re-focus. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less.
There's always going to be rotation between the colour channels which can be fixed when RGB aligning. If I go for longer, it just means more of a red limb and blue limb when I align on the features. But if it means more data for a better image of the features, then it's worth it.
I'll usually also align on the limbs though, and then take a feathered selection of the limbs and paste it over the main image to make it more aesthetically pleasing.
