Exclamation Announcing the IceInSpace Calendar Competition for 2014!

It's on again! Last year's Astronomy Calendar Competition was a huge success, with over 220 entries, 64 fantastic photographers, over 900 votes cast and over 3000 calendars sold (500 via IceInSpace!), so we're running the competition again for 2014.

The IceInSpace Astronomy Calendar for 2014 will again be made up of images captured by and chosen by the IceInSpace community!

Yes - you can submit your images for the chance to appear in the calendar, and you get to vote for the final images that will make up the calendar!

For more information about how to submit your images and how to vote, check out the article here:

IceInSpace Calendar Competition 2014

Image submission opens on the 1st May, so start preparing your images!

Thanks for the heads up Mike... can we add a text to each photo so we can elaborate on equipment used and what's actually in each image?

No, sorry Phil. The photo must appear without any name or text because the voting is anonymous.

The title field can be used to describe the Object itself.

Just answering a couple of questions that someone had:

The age of the images doesn't matter - can be old or new images.

The images can also be captured from remote telescopes - doesn't have to be from a telescope in your backyard.

Over 60 entries so far, but we need more:

- Comets
- Clusters
- Planets
- Moon/Lunar Eclipse

So if you've got some, please enter them!

Saturn occultation

Does anyone know of anyone who has a shot of an occultation of Saturn by the moon? Or at least Saturn and moon close together? There are a few such occultations next year and would be good to have one in the comp. thanks!

Hi. Is there a way to change an image submission?
Just wondering.
Thanks.
Steve.

Just let me know which one and I can delete it for you so you can submit a new one in its place.

Image Submission is now closed!

We had a record number of entries - 242 entries by 69 individual entrants.

Over the next few days, David from Astrovisuals and I will narrow those down to a selection of 4 or 5 in each of 10-12 different categories for the public to vote on.

I'll then prepare the voting form, and make it live probably around the 4th or 5th of June.

From seeing the images as they have been submitted, this is going to be one tough period of selection and voting - but one absolutely fantastic calendar once all is said and done!

Thanks to everyone for contributing!

Well I did vote for my two, but only because they're mine ... the others are better! 90% of it is Pro stuff.
