We'd love you to take part in the June Imaging Challenge. Please post your deep-space images of NGC3532 in this thread. Discussions about the images can also be in this thread.
Please ensure the image obeys the image posting guidelines when you attach them.
While it would be nice if the image were taken in the month of June, it's not essential so feel free to post older images if you're unable to take some new ones.
For observation reports and sketches of the object, see the "Space & Astronomy Talk" forum.
Ok I'll get the ball rolling.
F/10 Celestron HD-102 EQ achrocatic refractor. Autoguided with K3 through a Meade OAG, 260 sec single shot, ISO400, Canon 300D. Focuser R&P, focus assist with DSLR Focus.
Substantial chromatic halo appears over this time frame. Less obvious but still present in greyscale image. No processing apart from croping and greyscale

80 ED coming. Lets hope its a bit better than an achro. I'd love an Apo. Either of you got one to give me to borrow You'd get it back of course.......eventually
So, in keeping with me old mate Ponders I used the 80mm refractor as well.
Single 3 minute image using the Zeiss ED80/840, with Tak .75x reducer, Nikon D100, ISO1600. StarMate of course.

Paul,
the weather has been less than encouraging, and unless there is something good to post there seems little use in talking just for the sake of talking.
As Louie will confirm, I have been about.
These "Challenges" that Mike has initiated are a cracker though. It is good to have something to concentrate on, even with tiddly gear.
