Eclipse from Capt Cook Highway

Just north of Palm Cove provided a great view with very few people. HOWEVER, we also missed totality due to an ill placed cloud. Still was quite the event all the same.

Here's a few snaps firstly through my 200mm lens and then switching to the telescope with solar filter (which I was using for visual during totality). I'm especially happy with the cloud formation looking like and inverted batman symbol :-)

Also since we got up at 2am to find a nice view on the highway we had some spare time. Also snapped the LMC while we waited. Shot was made of 10second subs unguided with about 2min exposure time total.
