Missed it by that much...

That's the closest to totality I got. I have a couple of time lapses to put together still and plenty of after shots but the hole in the clouds and timing was just a bit off. We were on the wrong end of Cairns I guess.

I have to say the whole show was awesome though especially how fast the light dims down and the temperature drop. Next time I'll have to plan a little better. It was quite an experience though. Very cool.

I felt a little guilty coming home on the plane hearing people's stories of missing totality. Nice shots nonetheless.

Hi Marc,

Nice photos of a special event and a great looking video.

Shame you missed totality, however you were still there to experience a unique event that most of us will never see again.

What an adventure....well done!

Thanks.

Ross.

I feel for you Marc.

We were so lucky in Clifton Beach, but it could have gone oh so wrong. There is always next time. An annular in the north next year, but I think my next attempt to see another total eclipse is the `States in 2017.
