If you would like to carry on in the meantime, the clue for "14a" Down is:

14a. Alternative pieces move in a circle.

As Effy would say... "How embarrassment!"

Here ya go Middy! Hope I'm in time...

Fixed up the numbering, and missing clues for 11D and 55D...

Great example of how proof reading your own work just doesn't work!

Red face

My apologies everyone!

When I set a puzzle, I really issue a challenge... perhaps I should give a little clue... all the Down clues are numbered 1 less than they should be once you get past 15! oh, and there are 2 25 downs, the second one is actually 35 down!

I'll fix this up when I get home. Sorry again!

Al.

Wink A Second Cryptic Astro Crossword - Updated

OK, it's been a long time coming. Here's a second Cryptic Astro Crossword. I hope I don't have the same proof reading problems I had last time.

I've also posted the answers as well... but that's no excuse to cheat, OK?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.

Al.

PS: Just uploaded the corrected crossword with the missing clues added. Sorry about that.

A New Cryptic Astro Crossword - No 3!

After the debacle of my first cross word I downloaded a freeware crossword making program called Eclipse Crossword (it gotta be good with a name like that right?). Well I forgot I had it when I did my second one, and had similar problems with missing clues and numbers and things.

So I've a had a play with Eclipse and produced this one. It's quite easy to use - just type in your words and clues and it builds the crossword. It doesn't build very tight crosswords as you can see, but at least they should be numbered correctly and have all the clues attached.

The one shortcoming that I don't like about it (Eclipse that is) is that it doesn't allow more than one clue per word. It would be nice to have different clues appear each time a word is used in a crossword. But I suppose that's OK for the price.

Is anyone else interested in writing any cryptic crosswords or cryptic clues? I'm keen to share word/clue lists to build up a decent list, and of course I wouldn't mind having a go at someone else's puzzle either.

OK here's a 4th crossword.

Enjoy,

Al.

PS: oh no! 25A is two words with a space in between! What sort of crossword is this? I'll fix this in the list of clues for future crosswords.

Hi Al,

Yes I am, I am quite new at this and have colleagues who are expert at The Guardian cxw, they leave me floundering behind.

I have had a go at building a cxw but it was a bit feeble so I did not upload it yet. However I may have a few reasonable word+clue examples. I will get them together and PM you. I reckon this could grow if we put in a few member names+clues

Cheers

Cool!

Hmmm member's names, etc... It would have to be a specific IIS crossword... could be fun.
