17th June dawn over Auckland.

Had to take a rellie out to the Airport 5am on Sunday. Too late to go back to bed by the time we got home so walked up our local backyard volcano (Mt Albert) with the wee Fujifilm to watch the dawn over the CBD. Took a few pix of conjunction of Moon, Jupiter and Venus.
I am going to have to take the 80mm and the big camera and tripod up one evening. I'd take the big scope up on the dob base but it's closed to cars after dark. A good night might even let me spot Andromeda on the northern horizon.

Nice dawn colours Brent! I remember that view well, because I worked at the Mt Albert Research Centre (HortResearch) from '97-'99.

Cheers,
Stephen

Brent lovely colours and a nice picture, I dont get to see many nice sunrises. The moon in the sky really sets the scene along with the lights in the lower of the picture, your positioning of your focus points are perfect for a fantastic image.

Cheers Guys,

Stephen; The old DSIR building as it was on Mt Albert Road, is just around the corner from us in Highland Road which is just before the Burger Queen Takeaway. We walked up Summit Drive, nice and steep.

Carl; it was even softer and more subtle to the eye than the camera can capture. I've taken some Pano shots for printing from another couple of frames. Hopefully might make a few $$ from them.
