NGC5128 Centauris A

Weather has finally started to improve and I can now use the last week of my holidays to take as many pictures as possible. Here's the first one up Centaurus A a nice easy one.

Object NGC 5128 (Centauris A)
Date Taken: 26/02/2012
Telescope: Northgroup ED127 APO
Aperture: 127 mm
Telescope Mount Model: Skywatcher EQ6PRO
Camera Model: QHY10
Frames: 10 x 10 min, No Darks or Flats
Integration Time: 1 hr 40 min
Guiding Method: SSAG (Maxim DL)
Bortle Scale Zone: 4

Hi Paul,

You really brought out the halo of 5218!
Don't think Iv'e seen it to that extent before.

That looks great Paul. Nice to have some cooler nights here in Perth finally. Definitely will give this a crack for my next target.

Paul, I would say the scope was a bit out'a focus mate how are you focusing?

Three rules of imaging: Focus, Focus and Focus (then Beer )

Hi Mike, I've been using a Bahtnov but I noticed when i went to process this that it was a bit soft, I'm a bit dubious about the focuser and I think it slipped slightly with the high angle I was taking this picture at.... I was thinking of replacing the standard focuser with a 2.5" moonlight, motorised like the one I have on my RC10. then I can use autofocus in Maxim to get a better result.
