NGC-2070 in Narrowband.

I wasn't planning to shoot this but I added a pier extension to the mount and can now just see it over the roof, plus it's been cloudy to the north for months.

I wasn't expecting this image to be so blue and I think the core is a bit burnt but there ya go.

There's about 4.5 hours of Ha and 1.5 hours each of O3 and S2 mostly 15minute subs and I put it together using tone mapping techniques.

Takahashi FS-102 @ F6 for imaging, FS-60 for guiding.

[edit]
Backed off the cyan a bit and uploaded a large version.

I don't think that's the Tarantula at all. I think you photographed a piece of marmite covered toast that'd been left out for a month.

Crazy tone mapping. It's really different. Nice job in capturing the data too.

Cheers,
Cam

Cheers guys but it still seems too blue and brown to me.
I'm going to try mixing it in another way I think.

That narrowband has produced some exquisite detail, but the blue just doesn't look right. I'll be interested in how it changes if you redo the filter sequence

Yeah I think it might be best to mix it with some RGB, I can't seem to find a pleasing combination.
This one is different although a little bland, it's Ha+S2:O3:O3+Ha R:G:B, still playing with it.

Not keen on the blue, but I do like the browns and orange tones. It is a tough area to blend. I really like the composition and the detail.

Too blue for me as well paul, I've backed it off a little.

There's not been many clear nights nettie. Dates on the subs for this one are from the 8th to the 20th Jan
