Comet Lovejoy 6-1-12. Last time?

Hi,

Well it's still here!
I could not see it visually, even when the moon set.
Two images.

Camera Canon 1100D.

Single frame in moon light. 18 to 55 zoom at 18mm f/3.5 ISO 1600 60 sec. Proccessed in photoshop and cropped.

Three frames moon set. 18 to 55 zoom at 18mm f/5.0 ISO 3200 3 x 90 sec. Processed in DSS and photoshop and cropped.

Cheers,
Justin.

Another wonderful view of the comet Justin. The tail looks very long in the second image. Appreciate the view, still hampered here with cloud in the south. All the best.

Hi,

Thanks, I'm kind of glad it was cloudy this morning. Allowed me to catch up on some sleep.

Cheers,

Justin.

Very nice.

One of those shows the stars as nice and sharp. Was this tracked?

Greg.

Hi, Greg.

The second image was tracked, 3 x 90 sec stacked.
The first image was a test to see if it could be imaged in moon light, single exposure, 60 sec no tracking.

Cheers,

Justin.
