The Great Christmas Comet!
Finally a break in the clouds.
I put it down to the chanting I've been doing these past couple of days. And more intensely last night. LO
Taken with the Canon Stock 18-55 @18mm
1 minute F4 iso1600
Really glad I decided to head out of town. When I drove back through at 4am, the roads were slick with water. Looks like it had been raining the entire time I was away.

Nice work! Good detail in those.
I drove out this morning too but my pics weren't up to much as the H2 is not good at high ISOs. I wanted to try for dawnlight shots but a bank of clouds rose with and eventually overtook the comet. I'll drive south again in the morning.

babez, that first shot is so well composed -- I really dig it!
Had a bit of a mixed bag this morning. I'm going to get a few hours sleep now. I have a 3 hour drive back home.

Thanks for all the chanting, folks.
I had a lovely view of the comet from Mona Vale beach early this morning.
Took photos, won't publish - too noisy, too insensitive, too little aperture in the lens I chose
