6PM news on Ch. 9 tonight (Thursday)
Hi All,
Channel 9 News picked up an article with my photos in the Daily Mail and came to do an interview today. It should hopefully make the cut and be on air tonight (Thursday) during 6pm news on Ch. 9 in Victoria. I am not 100% sure about the other states. Naturally the whole family is very excited!
Here is Daily Mail article:

Cheers,
Alex

Will look out for this, Alex
I must say that your work has sort of gone "viral" around the internet. I've received dozens of weblinks in emails and on Facebook recently, often from friends and family around the world who are not aware that you're an Aussie, or even recognise the locations in your videos. I politely correct and inform them and direct them to your marvelous website.
Hats off to you, mate
Regards,
Stephen

Thanks Stephen.
Indeed, the Ocean Sky time lapse became quite popular on the net and is steadily climbing up to a million plays on Vimeo. Of course it is flattering to realise how many people see it.
I get a lot of feedback from people who are very surprised how beautiful the night sky can be. There is hope that some of my images will invite a few people to astronomy and maybe get some to see the effect of the light pollution.
The light pollution laws work very well on the Island of La Palma, where the GranTeCan telescope is.
Cheers,
Alex

Nice piece, Alex. The whole story was presented extremely well, without too many astro clichés.

Congrats Alex on the recognition. Very well deserved indeed!
Also congrats on the APOD for July the 4th. I voted on it as it was miles apart from anything else in the running imo.
Your work is wonderful and a lot goes into it.
Also opens peoples eyes to the beauty of the night...
Very well done!

Oops, sorry Alex, I started another thread without noticing this one
Congrats to Alex for being one of the main stories on tonight's channel Nine News (not a quick snippet, but a main story )
The story was about Alex's fantastic pics and videos about the Milky Way and how he met Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong (I thought Neil Armstrong hid from the media ).
Top stuff Alex It was a good story. They didn't ruin it

Thanks, guys.
It was a nicely edited piece albeit small after nearly three hour interview
Did it air nationally or just in VIC?
Cheers,
Alex
