M20 close up

Hi All,

I've still got a few objects from the SPSP trip to go through but won't have time for the next 10 days. So here is a quick processing of the M20.

Small image attached, full-size is here:

Trifid Nebula (M20)
22" SDM Dob, Sony NEX-5A, 27 x 15sec, ISO 3200

Cheers,
Alex

That's ridiculously good for the 6.75 minute exposure time.

Wow, I start wondering why I keep exposing for hours while such great pictures can be done in minutes! Impressive..

Thanks everyone for positive comments - much appreciated. I'll be away for 10 days and then back to processing the resty of the acquired data.

Cheers,
Alex

Aside from the short exposure time, it's a fantastic image no matter what. For some reason I'm drawn by the stars in this shot as well as the nebulosity more than any other M20 shot I've seen. I really like it.
