Jupiter my first shot on a EQ

Hi All,

It has been a while since I have done some Jupiter imaging. Still mediocre seeing around my home but was a good test.

I am quite happy with the vAgent webcam. 640 x 480 3 x barlow so in all reasonable shot. The EQ platform allowed me to track Jupiter quite well without even setting it up properly. Still have more to do on the mount.
I had taken 1024 x 768 shot and were good with the exception of cutting part of Jupiter off the screen.

3000 total stacked about 600 frame in the final processing using Registax. AVIStack v2 had a few problems processing still investigating.

Not bad for a DOB. Colour are not the best but was a quick process. Nice to get back into it again. Just need decent skies and a remote focuser (another build).

3 images - 3 different processes, enjoy.

Not a bad result Malcolm, prefer your first processing effort.

Cheers

Thanks for that, I have added my botched imaging at a higher resolution. This was difficult to get AVIStack and Registax to align so it is not the best it can do.

I assumed Jupiter was in the frame as VirtueDub couldn't display the whole frame in view. After i finshed for the night i saw the menu option to display the whole frame and that is when i noticed my mistake.

Not too bad at all. Must be fun keeping it in frame.

Just waiting for a few more parts to arrive for the platform otherwise it tracks really well. I saw the moon in the image and didn't realise jupiter wasn't. Just a silly error.

Being push to, it was difficult to get it into frame but once in was easy to keep in.
