After 87 mm rain in the 24 hrs to 9am today, the skies cleared mid afternoon allowing me to get this image of the Moon and 4 planets at about 6 pm. This is of course only part 1 of this conjunction, with the Moon moving up near Mercury tomorrow evening, and then joining Mars, Venus and Saturn on Friday evening. Hopefully the weather will remain fine...
This image is a 6 sec exposure with an 18-50mm lens in 30mm, f/6.7, and 400 iso, and the inset is a 3 sec exposure with my 70-300mm telephoto on 300mm, f/6.7 and 400 iso.
Thanks very much Alan, Mike and Chris! Glad you like the image. It was a great view, and the 29 hr old Moon looked fantastic in the clear air after all that rain!
