26 June 2010 partial lunar eclipse from Wallsend
well i still have a few reprocesses to go but i am getting happy with it. The moment of maximum coverage as seen from Wallsend.
Had to contend with rain and cloud, dog and RB, but i managed to get this - thank goodness it cleared for this phase
i know i have to fix the outer edge on the right - next repro
EDIT--> FINAL REPRO IS HERE

Dave,
That is magnificent!
Well done; the subtlety is what makes it so appealing.
Awesome.

You mean the slight glow? I'm viewing on my iPhone at the moment and it looks the goods to me. I'll view on a monitor soon.
I like it, anyways!

Top shot there David. In retrospect, I wish that I had exposed for the shadowed area instead.

Great image Dave - did you combine the exposures manually or did you use HDR?

Looks like it is coming along nicely, David. Can't wait for the repro.
No chance of doing that here:
Not organised enough
Too much cloud
Not organised enough
Cheers

That's superb, Dave! Definitely a keeper!
I see what you mean about the far RHS but to be honest it doesn't detract from it too much. If you gave fix that on the next Sid then it'll be a really impressive shot!
I love it! Well compressed I say!

did another repro - though i am not sure i like it? the right side is still there but now i realise why it is that aqua green colour - earths ozone layer - i caught that in my total eclipse shot two years ago. DOH.........
i used a programme called photomatix pro to make the initial hdr type image from the 26 raw shots then into Pixinsight for some background cleaning up and noise reduction then into photoshop for some resizing

Like the first one, Dave. Technically I suppose the second one is more natural, but the detail in the first one gives it a real punch!

I'm with Al, the first one has plenty of crunchy detail, and doesn't look as over cooked as the last (my opinion). Having said that the dark side detail is best in the last but I would still pick the first.
