SAC/Mintron/StellacamEX "SOLD"

Hi Guys,

I am selling my SAC/Mintron to purchase a smaller and light weight guide camera...I am at the limit for my mount so I want to save weight where ever I can.

The specs of the Mintron are as follows:
The SAC-MINTRON EX-View Video Camera

CCD Size: 1/2" monochrome
Pixel size: 8.4 x 9.8um

Light Sensitivity 0.005 to 0.00005 (long exposure)
A/D converter 10 bit AGC/AD converter
Shutter Speed NTSC: 1/60 - 1/120,000
Shutter Speed PAL: 1/50 - 1/120,0000
Gain Control Auto / Manual 0-18 Db
Video Output Composite and Y-C Video - 1.0 Volt P-P at75 OHM
On Screen Display OSD
Remote Controller
AC Power Supply
C to 1.25” adaptor and cables
USB interface
Astrovideo image stacking software

This camera is identical to the Stellacam EX which is priced at a lot more dollars. $695 USD plus postage. $1000AUD

You need a 12 volt power supply like a cigarette fitting and a PC...thats it...no tuner card is needed.

This camera is way more sensative then a toucam.

It comes with everything including all cables and software.

What I am prepaired to do if anyone is intersted...is to allow the buyer to play around with it for a week or so and if their not entirley happy with the incredible views you will get on your screen then I will refund the money in full...return postage will be paid from the buyer.

Total cost of the Mintron is $499 + $40 both USD which comes to around $730 AUD..the stellam cam EX is $1000

Camera is in perfect condition as new.

It's your's for $450 including postage to Australian IIS members.

Advantages
1)Gives fantastic view's with detail on screen in live video mode....much more detail then I could ever see visualy.

2)Sensative Sony ex-view HAD 1/2" monochrome chip

Disadvantages:

1)Camera is heavy with lots of cables.
2)Must have a PC or monitor to operate.

PM me if intersted.

I wouldn't imagine it being any good with any scope that doesn't track.

They say you can use it for planets and the moon but I find it was to sensative even with on the lowest settings....it's much better for getting those dim guide star's and DSO's, but saying that have done imaging of planets with this cam.

I thought with frame integration and astrovid software you can overcome tracking.

You probably know more then me then.....

I just consider a scope without tracking isn't ideal to do imaging.....yes it can be done and done well by members of this forum but like I said not ideal.

I only used this camera about 5 times and that had to do with guiding.
