Transit of Venus 2012

I know, I'm jumping the gun a bit (well, a lot really) but sometimes things need planning for like clouds!! I've got lots of those over the last few weeks. Hence more computer time.

For those interested I came across this great little website that calculates all of the times associated with the transit of Venus based on your computer location and time. You can also put in you location manually.

http://www.transitofvenus.nl/details.html

I had a great Mercury transit in 2006 so I'm hoping to do the double!

cheers

Wade

Nice find!

I was thinking that my planning would involve booking plane seats to the eastern seaboard and a hotel room so I could watch the whole thing from start to finish! I only got to see ingress in 2004 and would love a second chance to see both ingress and egress.

Hi all,

Seeing as how we are getting closer to the big event next year I thought it may be worth a bump for this great little web site for the calculation of the Venus transit at your location. This way those who weren't with IIS then may be able to use it.
If I'm still in my new job at this local, I'll have great viewing as I'm in the desert with very low scrub.

I'll be doing an article on the transit soon, too.
