Thanks for all the comments guys and girls!! So, twas all setup, roughly pointing south and pretty damn level. Looking good so far, although I'm still in awe at the sheer presence of this beast (my wife thinks I'm compensating for something....hmmmmm).

Now, my first post about no cloud was correct, however it turns out that there were no eyepieces in with OTA No one is to blame for this, it's actually hilarious when you think about it.....I KNEW the lack of cloud was too good to be true!!!

Will have some pics up this weekend, I'm having a new shed put up to house the cannon

Ben,

Just looked out my office window and the sky is starting to look a bit dark. When did you say the eps were arriving?

I've just arrived back in the office, and yes those clouds are looking like wiping out first light for some time. EP's should be here tomorrow, no doubt accompanied by a depressing grey cloud cover

Told ya
The light gathering ability of your new scope is directly proportional to it's cloud gathering capability.

Well, the EP's have just landed on my desk via express post. I picked up the satchel and thought "this feels slightly heavier than I expected for two 1.25" eyepieces......"

And inside is two GSO Plossls (1.25" 9mm and 20mm)....AND a 2" 28mm!!! I cannot sing enough praise to Lee and the team at Andrew's, the service is unparalleled!!!
