Cool Mag -8 Iridium flare ambushed

Caught a mag -8 flare tonight. Iridium-5 flying through Aquarius and Pegasus. Ambushed this one with the help of my GPS unit, got myself to within 1km of the ground track. This spot was just off the side of Waterfall Way, on the way to Ebor from Dorrigo.... pretty quiet, dark spot.... wish I'd taken my scope, although would look a bit silly on the roadside! The few cars that passed slowed down to about Mach 0.5 when they saw me, the camera tripod in the headlights would have looked a bit like a speed trap I'm sure!
Always a thrill when these babies appear on cue!

Details
Nikon D70 untracked (hence trails) - tracked mount one day
18mm f/4 86sec exposure
