Cambroon 23/05/09

It's been three months since our last Cambroon night
As with a very successful "Barambah Dark Sky Camp" last month and the March night clouded outit seems such a long time ago.
Let's hope for a clear night's on the 23rd

Hi Ron,
yeah, it's been months - mostly rainy months at that. I missed Barambah becauise of offshore commitments and I'm going to miss the next Cambroon for the same b%$#%y reason. The thing that irks more than anything is that my new scope is finished and ready for a public outing. But it's going to sit there like a bridesmaid for another two weeks it seems.
I'm hoping to grab some space in June to try another launching of my Obs - say the weekend of the 30th. How does that look for you and the other Cambrooners?

Peter

Hi Peter, I am sorry you cannot make it on the 23rd.
Both the 30th May and June dates are first quarter moon's,
with the set times around 23:00 for the 30 May and 23:45 for the 30th June.
cheers

I won't be able to make it Ron I'm afraid to say, my roster shows that's my "working" weekend again. I will do my best to catch up with you again as soon as I can though.

Hope everyone has a great night with clear skies and fantastic viewing!

30th June looks a good compromise. Could you pass that info along among all Cambrooners with an open invite to come down Somerset Dam way and christen the new observatory that night. Bring scopes, swags victuals etc - plus bags of premix if you want to mark out a personalised possie. 1/4 moon isn't too bad and that'll leave the new moon weekend before for the true Cambroon faithful to head up your waya.

Peter

Might not be able to come Ron, it's a few weeks before exams, and such. We'll try and make it otherwise though.

Last night was surprisingly clear. Average seeing, but not a cloud in sight.

Looks like I'm out this time Ron. Worried about my wife - I've given her the bug I've been fighting all week, so better stay here and help with the kids.

Bit worried about weather tomorrow too - glad you've had some good nights this week though.

Rob
