Hi all, I must have lucked out with the weather tonight.
Started off pretty poor, but had quite a reasonable session sometime after 22:00... I've only stacked a few of the runs and done some minimal processing... probably too yellow, tell us what you think.
Originals, then 150% resize in Registax, dropped the saturation and tweeked the contrast on PS CS2.
Nice work Tony. I packed up around 10:00pm due to clouds so it’s good to see your results. I did have a visual peek as I was packing up, and although the seeing was jelly like due to the low altitude at that time, I could see the silhouette of Titan and the shadow cast on Saturn’s disc during the moments of steadier seeing.
91 sequences 5 fps x 60 seconds. Vixen 102m, 2 x Barlow, modded TouCam Pro, captured with K3CCD. Stacked and resized 150% in Registax 4, dropped saturation in PS CS2, animated with Animation Shop 2.
The animation is hosted on Paul Floyd's astronomy education website.
That is really quite an excellent animation Tony. Well done for capturing the data and assembling it, to produce such a superb record of this rare event.
