302mm F5 NEWTONION BINOCULAR TELESCOPE

I'm putting up for sale my 302mm F5 Binoscope.
I built this scope a couple of years ago, with major input from Mark Suchting.
I believe that it may be the largest working Binocular Telescope in Australia.
A number of iceinscape members have had the opportunity to view the
heavens thru this scope, both at Lostock and the South Pacific Star Parties.
I'm sure they would testify to the jaw dropping views had.
The reason for selling the scope, is that I'm leaving the hobby.

Two matched F5 302mm Mark Suchting Primary Mirrors.
Two Discovery Secondary Mirrors (Enhanced Coatings)
Two 2" JMI Reverse Crayford Focusers.
Two 2" Astro Tech Star Diagonals.
Two Tele Vue 13mm Nagler Type 6 Eyepieces.(116x)
Two Tele Vue 10mm Radian Eyepieces (150x)
Two UHC Filters
One Astrosystems 2" Laser Collimator.
8x50 Right Angled Correct Image Finder.
Red Dot Finder.
Assorted Bits And Pieces.

I should stress that this scope is not for everyone. Once the principals
have been mastered, then its little difference to using a Newtonion Dob.
This is a visual Telescope, so no computers anywhere. It works on the
KIS principle, but if needed encoders, and a Argo Navis could be fitted.
This scope breaks down to facilitate ease of transport.
Once unloaded, you can be viewing within 10-15 min.
If anyone is serious, feel free to contact me.
My number is 0408801430

Price $7500.00 (This price would not replace the items mentioned above, let alone the Binoscope itself.)

Such a shame Paul. This is the set that I looked through with Mark at IISCA07 and SPSP before I made up my mind to follow suit and buy two of Marks mirrors and make my own set.

To anyone considering - the views through this machine are simply unforgettable. I still remember my first glance at an old friend - M42, to actually see "into" the object for the first time. Given an 18" or even larger monocular scope I'd go back to these binos every time. They are very special indeed.

Good luck with the sale Paul - it would have saved me a lot of time and cash to know that you were selling them one day....

I have a few photos of this machine on my website at: http://www.omaroo.com/index.php?opti...g2_itemId=2211

Hello Chris,
Sorry I did not know back then, that I would be selling them now.
Thank you for putting the link to your albums.
How is your Binoscope going?
