Talking Swsmm

There has been a lot of mention throughout the forum of SWMBO whenever a member wants to buy a new piece of equipment. But we very rarely hear about SWSMM or HWSMM (She/He Who Supports My Madness ). I just like to take a moment to thank my SWSMM.

Her name is Sya, and she is the most wonderfully supportive person. I happened to "mention" the other day that my GM-8 is starting to get a bit weight down and that I'd like to get a G-11 at some point. Her response was "Why don't you? Xmas and your birthday are coming up. Why not get yourself an early xmas and birthday present?" What a Gal (No I haven't ordered it YET ). And every night I'm out she comes out and sees what I'm up to and how everthing is going. She sometimes even has a look through the scope if I'm not imaging. She's quite happy to head off to bed without me, with a kiss and asks if I'd like a cuppa before she goes to bed. And if I want to go bush for a weekend as long as I make sure I spend a couple of nights before hand making her feel special, she waves me off with a smile. And how do I make her "feel special"? By simply sitting with her on the lounge and talking to her and listening to her. Which is the easiest thing in the world to do, seeing as she's so wonderful anyway. Hardly a chore is it

And she never complains that I spend too much time sitting here reading and typing. She thinks this forum is wonderful for me. But I think, just between you and me, she thinks we're all slightly "touched"

S o lets hear about you SWSMM/HWSMM. Am I the only lucky one around here.

No SWMBO posting please. Lets support those who support our madness

A relationship is exactly that, you both understand each other. If your better half does not understand and she does. dont even ask. Most women get jealous of another object let alone a hobby.Do you remember poor Basil in Faulty Towers!

OK you asked. My GF rings me and says ,looks like it's clear tonight so I wont
see you till the morning.Or better still ,looks like it's going to be cloudy tonight
come over for a good meal and a nice night in front of the telly.

SHE understands (I hope).

Bert

One of my mates summed up my partner, saying "she must be a good woman; she puts up with you"....can't argue with that...

Hmmm...Maybe I should have ordered a Dob to go with it You never know Dave it could be up for sale shortly. Or maybe I'll just keep it as, you know, my pack and go mount I don't want to be confused with Striker

Do I sound cheery? YOU BET!!!

I think this is all a dream and in the morning you will realise that it must have been a game show on the TV and you fell asleep. When you wake up your kids really gave you a 60mm tasco refractor on a EQ1 mount

SWSMM .... got me seriously into the hobby by getting me to do an "Astronomy night" at our local community center (before I even had a scope).
Then came the 10" Dob, then I started the club, now I'm ready to get the 16" GSO scope when it comes out .... her response ? "Will that be a big enough scope for you ?"
