Vixen FL80S Fluorite doublet, f= 640mms

This was one of the last off Vixen's production line before the ban
on the manufacture of Fluorite lenses came into force. Barry Pemberton,
owner of Orion Optics UK and one of Europe's finest telescope makers
had it on his optical bench and is reported to have said it was the finest
refractor of the size he had seen. The OTA has been professionally
shortened to facilitate the use of Canon EOS type cameras with a
slide filter (for H-Alpha exposures), which requires a substantial back
focus. Currently it is fitted with a robofocus motor (which is not for sale)
but the fittings and coupler can be available. Being a late model it has a
2" fitting. Focuser is a rack and pinion very smooth and precise.
Asking $1500
