FS-Vixen ED115S apo + HEQ5pro goto

For Sale: Vixen ED115 apo + HEQ5pro goto mount + 2" Quartz dielectric diagonal.

This scope is the flagship in the Vixen apochromat range. Made in Japan its a superior example of an ED refractor.

Specs:

D=115mm F=890mm (f/7.7) ED Apochromatic Design
OTA Dia = 125mm Len=940mm Weight 4.4kg
Vixen 7x50 finderscope
Vixen mount rings and dovetail.
Vixen 1.25" flip mirror diagonal supplied.
OTA fitted with a metal carry handle (attached to mount ring)

Bonus GSO 98% reflectivity quartz dielectric 2" diagonal

The scope is unmarked except for some marks on the mount dovetail for obvious reasons, and on the finderscope where the mount locating screws bear against the finders tube (unavoidable).

The HEQ5 pro mount is only a few months old and is in as-new condition.
The mount is not available as a separate item unless the OTA sells first!

The question on most interested peoples mind would be "how does this compare to the cheap 127mm triplet now on the market". There is a comparative test shot and discussion here on this page , post #2395522

A review can also be found here

To put all this together new at current dealer prices would cost you $4298 not incl shipping.

I have all original packaging and am asking $2800 for the lot + ship

If you want the OTA + diagonals (everything bar the mount) , price is now $2000. (was $2250)

I'm losing a lot on this deal. My loss is your gain!

I have used this scope and it's a beauty.

We have pushed this scope hard on Saturn and it held up well with a very sharp crisp image.
With a wide field eyepiece scanning Eta Carina area is

Anyone looking for such a rig will be very happy at this price. I would buy it if I did not have my set up.

Price reduction

Now $2000 +ship for the OTA with original equipment + GSO dialectic diagonal.

Or $2800 +ship for the lot.(The above + heq5 mount) HEQ5 new is $1090 at Andrews.

I priced this OTA at Astro Optical and new price is $3100. You are getting this OTA in excellent condition for 65% of new price AND getting a bonus 2" quartz dielectric diagonal thrown in for free.

If I didn’t already have a 102mm Vixen ED102S F9 refractor I would snap this scope up in a flash! I’m really astonished it hasn’t gone yet!

Cheers

Me too actually.

The OTA is priced at under 65% of what AO were asking new for this over a month ago. Given the exchange rate movements lately its probably looking even more favourable now for a buyer.

There is absolutely nothing at all wrong with this scope, and nothing to devalue it. I would rather it collect dust forever than to give it away at a silly price.

HI Geoff,
I'm interested in taking a look, if you still have it.
BTW, any cases?

Cheers, Richard
