[SOLD] Canon 300D modded + extras for sale

Hi guys,

I am going to upgrade my imaging camera and I'll have to part with complete imaging setup I was using before.

You will get everything that is required to start imaging. Just add your scope and T-Ring and it's ready to go.

This offer includes only

1) Canon 300D DSLR modded with a clear Edmund glass. The camera comes with a battery, battery charger, 1GB Compact Flash card, all cables and standard Canon software. I bought it from astromart last year for AU$700 (including delivery from Canada) It was moddified by an engineer from Canada who is doing it for years. It will also work for infrared photography.[SOLD]

2) Series IV 'Stiletto' Focuser. [SOLD]

3)Timer remote control with LCD screen. [SOLD]

Everything above is in excellent condition. The price for the camera is $460[updated to current price] + actual shipping cost. Pick up is free.

any questions, just PM me.
I can post images of anything included in this offer if required.

If you want to see astro images taken with the camera check the first four in the album below

Hi guys,

I can confirm that the Series IV 'Stiletto' Focuser comes in the most expensive Pro version package which will cost you $300 including delivery if you buy it new.
Here is a direct link to it
http://www.stellar-international.com...n-us/d151.html
and here is video tutorials on how to use it
http://www.stellar-international.com/videotest.htm

I can also consider splitting my offer.

cheers,

Michael

I will consider any reasonable offer for the camera package.

C'mon guys, this is really worth the money I am asking for it.

Let see
The Stilleto package will cost you AU$320 landed in Australia if you buy it new and Deluxe version of the same focuser has been sold here very quickly for $180 AUD a month ago. I am selling a Pro version which is better and more expensive. Let say it takes $200-210 AUD in the total price of my package.
It means that AU$590-600 left for the camera and the remote control(worth AU$45-50). So the price you will pay for the camera is as low as $540-555. I don't think you can find any modded DSLR for such a low price.
Yes, it does not have a IR/UV filter but you can always add it to your imaging train. However having a camer modded with a clear glass means that the camera is not limited to astrophotography only as you can use the camera to take daylight infrared pictures too.

As I said above I can consider splitting the package. However I highly recommend to buy it as a package. I guarantee that you'll love it. You won't need to run any cables from the camera to your laptop. You won't even need a laptop for this camera because you will be able to achieve a very sharp focus and set a number of exposures and their duration without it.

cheers,

Mike

price dropped to $700 for the package. I will also add for free a t-ring and a t-adapter which fit both for the camera and the focuser.

or
$215 for the focuser package including The T-Ring and T-Adapter. [SOLD]
$40 for the LCD timer remote. (for Canon 300D/350D/400D)[SOLD]

$460 for the modded 300D

in case somebody does not want to buy the whole package.

Prices above don't include postage. Pick up is free from Sth. Melbourne or Seabrook.

cheers,

Mike

The focuser and the LCD remote sold

Hi Peter,

yes, the camera is still for sale. I'll check about mirror lockup when I get home tonight.
Sorry, cannot recall from my memory on which of my two Canon cameras I installed that russian hack firmware which enables both mirror lockup and IS03200. If it's not on this camera there should be no problems for me to install it for you.

cheers,

Mike

Michael' I don't understand what this russian 'hacked' firmware means. Obviously I need to know what it is and how to use it if it is not in the camera instruction s. I only have used Nikon up to now. Thanks

Hi Peter,

the "russian hack" is unofficial firmware update that unlocks some additional functions in 300D/350D/400D Canon cameras.

As far as I know mirror lockup and ISO3200 are not part of functions available in original Canon menu for 300D/350D/400D models and most likely functions for 20D/30D/40D models. However these functions are there and they are just hidden in 300D/350D/400D models by Canon. The "russian hack" update just makes them available for use. It's called "russian" because it was written by a guy from russia :-)

You can access all unlocked functions as easy as you usually access functions in Canon menu. All new unlocked functions will be in the last tab under "Custom functions" menu. IS03200 is available at the same place where you usually change ISO. It appears as the last option on the ISO list after 1600 with only difference that instead of displaying 3200 you will see "H". If you select it it will mean you just set your camera to ISO 3200.

Below is a link to more details about this firmware
http://www.bobatkins.com/photography...ware_hack.html

There must be even more detailed guides about it available on the Internet.

cheers,

Mike
