As we wll as a no lights policy, it looks like we will have to instigate a no noise policy

Hi Ron,

This is just 5 days before I leave on a two week boys only trip to the USA, it may be stretching the friendship with the wife to be there but if the weather looks really promising I'll see what I can do. As for the weather, hmmmm, as Paul said, I havn't observed this summer either, I have never seen so much cloud. obviously a lot of people got a lot of equipment for Christmas.

Might see you then. Cheers, Dennis.

Better get in Dennis cos there won't be any clear skies for years after the 19th of Feb. It's observatory delivery time

I am new to the group and fairly new at astronomy. Jeanette (jjjnettie) suggested I have a look at this night. What are the details re: start times, location and do i have to bring along anything?

regards
Steve

Steve and ,there is a sticky at the top of this thread of how to get to Cambroon.

People usualy start arriving about 3:00 or so in the afternoon so as they can set up and then have time for a chat and a bit of refreshment and maybe find some planets in the daytime

Stuff to bring? Telescope if you have one, or Bino's,also any photo gear. If not there are plenty of scopes you can have a look through.

If you plan to stay the night, a mattress and a sleeping bag or a tent if you prefer to camp.
Some food for the BBQ or heat up in the microwave.

Warm clothes and footware, and a beanee as it can get quite cool at night whilste not moving around too much

Some insect repellant, you can be sure that after so much moisture in the last month or so there will be a few around

If you have any questions PM me or Paul (1 ponders) and we will help you out.
I Look forward to meeting you
Ron

Is that another shot at my extra noisy mount!!!

I remind you all the 'Silence the Meade Fund' is still open and is still accepting donations. We have now has been able to afford some blue-tack to silence the Meade a little. The result of this has been to lower the dB from 10000000000 to 1000000. Your support and donations are appreciated.

We are still deciding on whether we are a non-profit organization. We also sell earwax.

(Though not very much I think it doesn't sound like a mozzie anymore or maybe I'm going deaf??? )

Hopefully will be there Ron, to give everybody's earwax a good rattling.

If I'm not there 'Have FUN'

PS. Yes I have gone completely nuts.

Randall, If you and anyone eslse wants to come up this coming weekend you are quite welcome.
The Moon rises just after midnight, so you can get a few hours observing in
I had visitors coming this weekend but they have had to cancel
So weather permitting there will be some observing done this coming weekend
