Round Table Platform

This platform is designed as an affordable tracking solution for the small and medium size Dob users.

Each platform is custom cut to your latitude. It is constructed from 5/8 inch Baltic Birch with adjustable pads for leveling or latitude adjustment The leveling pads fully extended, allow for + or - 5 degree latitude adjustment or 700 mile adjustment range.
The platforms shown will add 5 ¼ inches to the height of the scope. It is 23 inches diameter, weigh 17lb, and tracks for 50 minutes. It is powered by 8 AA batteries, or a 12V automotive plug. It has fine speed adjustment with blinking LED speed indicator. An automatic shutoff switch stops the table when it reaches the end of its travel. Reset by simply lifting the corner of the platform and slide the table over. The scope can either be set on top of the platform, or directly attached replacing the ground board. The platform can easily handle up to a 14-inch scope. For a 15 or 16 inch, I would need to make the platform slightly larger and add an extra bearing support for stability. (a slight extra charge depending on size needed). It cannot be used for guided photography.

The price is $370.00 (money order, cashiers checks or paypal +3%) a painted platform would be $20 extra because of the extra sealing and sanding involved. Buyer pays shipping, handling and any import fees or duties. Platform ships one week after order is placed. All prices quoted are in US dollars.

Here is a sample of shipping rates from Chicago to Sidney,

Express rate $123.00 delivery 3 to 5 days

Air freight $116.20 delivery 4 to 10 days

Sea Fare $53.20 (4-6 weeks)

Thanks,
Brian Reed

Brian is the paypal +3% on the US$370, or the total (including shipping?)

To avoid the +3%, how does one organise a money order or cashiers checks for someone in the US?

I will be ordering one of these from you, but the budget says "wait until next month".

Mike,

I’m glad to hear you will be placing an order soon. I know you will be very satisfied with the value and performance of this equipment

I’m sorry but I can not share the paypal fees as I’ve priced this platform with a tight margin.
I will require 3% on the total sum including shipping costs.

For information on a money order, go to this web address. http://auspost.com.au/BCP/0,1080,CH3336%7EMO19,00.html . This will save some money over using PayPal.
I do not know about obtaining cashiers checks overseas. I should have left that off the listing.

Thanks,
Brian Reed

Mike you can get a money order in US dollars from Australia Post (I have just been through this process with my son buying warhammer through ebay) If I remember correctly it cost about $8 for the money order. Then just mail it.

Well done Mike. This is going to be very intetesting! So it should be here in around two weeks or so? Watch out Central Coast astonomers when that arrives, that's asking for clouds (though we all hope not!).

Wish you'd told me that before yesterday Sir Louis!

$8.65 for an international money order, so it wasn't too bad anyway.

It was hoping to be shipped this week, so if that happens, next week. Hopefully in time for the observing session on the 11th.
