Well in the 1.5 years or so I have had this scope, It has been my treasure.
When I first looked threw it I was blown away by the views it presented. I am no expert on the Quality of optics, but I suspect this is one of the better ones.
The scope performs really well, in good seeing stars resolve to pinpoints. I have seen Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon through this scope and they are awesome views. The moons of Jupiter are clearly seen. I have taken few images of Jupiter (an animation with its moons), Saturn, and the Moon. This is not easy to do with a dob, but not impossible.
Minor Issues that do not in anyway impair the use of the telescope.
There is one small ding in its hardly noticeable and it does not enter the light path in the slightest. See Mirror photo with arrow to indicate.
Alt side with encoder for Astromaster has no spring.
Lost little elastic bit for Spring on other side.
Alt Bearings have got some groves from staples used in Teflon on Alt Bearing.
The scope has held its Collimation from the day I bought it, I never got around to center spotting it nor ever did i attempt to collimate it. But still by my eye it seems to perform well enough. Perhaps due to the fact that its not moved around much.
