Been absent from the 'broon' for a while so put me down as a possible. If I do make it I might drag my 6yo along aswell.

I'll definitely try and get there 'cause the next new moon is out as we will be having overseas inlaws to look after .
I may be a little late as I am playing cricket now. Depends where we play.
Thanks Ron

I can't attend, but now I know where it is. I drove passed Cambroon Caravan Park last Friday on my way to the Imbil Music Festival at Borumba Deer Park.
In the last thread I confused "Little Yabba Creek" with "Yabba Creek" at Imbil.
Now I know better. It certainly is a beautiful spot.
Mike.

I hope to be in ... I'll have to try and swap away my 11pm shift that night, but it's a distinct possibility!
After all the new Dob 2.0 (12") in the 9 nights since it moved in hasn't had any cloudless nights yet, unless of course you count full moon, which was only half clear, only for a little while - and of course the moon was completely exposed and shining bright!!

Ah crud, looks like I won't be making it after all, I can't get a shift swap for that night, and as I'll be working alone that night I can't just take the night off, there's no one there to cover for me.
I hope you all have a great night of observing and socialising .... fingers crossed for December.
Steve

I will do my best to come down for a Cambroon meet in the future astroron, but this month the hervey bay stargazers are having their monthly do on the same date! Its usually the closest Saturday to the new moon.
It would be nice to meet other members of the forum.

Stephen, it would be great to have you join us on one of our Astro weekends, our weekends are also at the closest to New Moon, but sometimes there are two dark weekends in a row , so if you feel like coming down anytime I am sure we could get a group of iceinspacers together to do some observing.
Just watch this forum for details, or Email or PM me astroron

My daughters dance concert lands on that weekend, so I'm gonna have to give this one a miss... see you another time Ron.

Since I can't make Saturday Ron, how would you feel about my coming for a visit either Monday or Tuesday night? My days off "this week" run from 7am Monday through to 3pm Wednesday so I could come out either night potentially.
Randall how about you - I see from your pic that you are NOT looking well at all, I think you need to take some time off - go home early Monday or Tuesday perhaps - and relax with some pleasant red and a nights viewing.

Looks like it's going to be a quiet weekend out there Ron. I'm not counting on anything atm. Dennis has offered to bring me out when he comes, but I don't know if I can take sitting for so long and then standing all night.

I'm still in, though I might be a bit late.
Paul, I don't know if your back problem's the same as mine, but when my back was bad, the only comfortable way I could travel in a car was flat on my stomach (we used to have a station wagon), or on my knees in the front seat in the reverse position. (I'm glad your a moderator and undertstand what we are talking about ).
I eventually got control of my back problem by doing "McKenzies" exercises.

It's not looking good for me for tomorrow night. I've just been for a drive with my wife to Mooloolabah for dinner. By the time I got there was looking for someone to shoot me. Not pleasant.
