I'm starting to go cross-eyed processing this one so I'm throwing it out for comment
I have collected about 25 hours of Ha and 50 hours of OIII on this little gem. The faint OIII shell is now a little brighter and showing some nice details.
Hi Rick. No expertise here but for me it looks great. In anticipation of the arrival of my AP1100 and Tec 140 I am now thinking about a roll of roof observatory. I think I remember you saying that you don't have an observatory but leave the scope out and covered. If so how do you go with the scope and mount surviving the elements. Obviously pretty well based on the images being produced. I wont say more data but do remember the early days when I would image several objects in a night and be happy with 3 darks and no flats etc. How things have changed.
Thanks, Mark. I just bring the electronics inside every morning and cover the scope each day. If it looks like rain for a few days I bring the scope in and cover up the mount. I'm just trying to avoid a set up every night. So far so good apart from ants trying to nest in the mount control box.
Excellent result Rick, looks like a mangled body organ or a malformed ear Did it really need 75hrs (see what you've started Rolf!!!! ) well perhaps not but hey if you have the will why not and you have revealed some faint wisps between the inner and outer rings there as a result that don't show up in "normal" deep images of this gem so that's something, also you look to have worked specifically on those two bright bits at either end of the mangled ear, don't recall seeing actual detail in those bits before..?
10/10 for patience and determination in data collection there mate, Paul will be very happy with you and you don't even have an automated observatory ...now, where can I buy some of that patience?
73 hours!!! Okay I won't tell you you need more data then.
Wonderful image Rick.
Thanks, Kevin

Thanks, Mike. I could have got away with less data but I was hoping to catch some stuff not usually seen. With ACP running smoothly it's not too hard to collect a lot of data so long as we get clear skies. I did check that each night was making a significant improvement to SNR and was ready to give up when it didn't. BTW, your set up is about 2.5 times faster than mine (same aperture but different image scale and QE) so think of it as a mere 30 hours
Looks like a twisted ear, eh? The Mike Tyson nebula

The detail , clarity and fine structure of your images never ceases to amaze me. Maybe you should put pen to paper so others can learn from your endeavours.

Thanks, Rob. I hate writing and I can't claim to be an expert
75 hours - wow. Great image. Some of the brighter stars look like they have been made unbright, perhaps too much so the image lacks bright stars. That centre neb star is nice and tight so that is the plus side of that processing choice.
Great work and extremely patient. The O111 is the dim part eh?
AS Shaggy from Scooby Doo would say " Zoinks!!"
What an amazing picture.
Thanks for sharing Rick.

Thanks, Graz!

Thanks, Greg. I was concentrating on that central star and agree that some of the others could be improved. I'm sure there's a repro coming once I mull it over for a while. I appreciate the feedback!

Ta, Geoff! Looking forward to your images from Astrofest once they are cooked.
