What is the best image capture software?

When using a Philips ToUcam Pro2 to view the moon and planets through a 12 inch Skywatcher Dobo, what is the best image capture camera to use?
This is for viewing on a PC or TV not for image capture stacking. Best advice to date is K3CCD tools.
We have a Stellarium remote control working and the camera produces pictures. Just the last bit of the puzzle is the capture software. this will be for vidio of moon & planets.

Bill.

Gidday Bill,
If your camera is windows detectable, and you want to try programming a little image camera software. You can make your own with processing.org.
supports image capture and video live view, can then do star field processing. see attached work in progress wide field view. find bright stars in each capture frame...

kind regards, Alan

DEpends on what you want to do with the images but for live view this programme works well. It is primarily a guide programme but will give a nice image and is free.

You might try the GStar Capture program. Although designed for use with the GStar camera range you might find that it will work with your ToUcam. You can download it from http://www.myastroshop.com.au/guides...star-exclr.htm. It's free so you can't lose anything by trying it.
