Great shot mate. Did you apply wavelets? Can you elaborate on the processing you did with those different programs please?

Thanks

Ray

Wow excellent work Bert, i've always loved that constellation (so simple!) and I had no idea of the dark nebula there.

Raising the bar as always Bert.

That is amazing Bert, you are sure getting to know that camera.

I think this is one of the best you have posted, awsome, well done.

You give me hope yet of getting somewhere near this quality with my 5dh, once i get my new mount.

That's a stunner Bert.
Beautiful detail.
I was actually looking at this last week with my daughter, just naked eye.
I'll have to show her your beautiful image.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks all. On that night everything went OK even the weather. I read some time ago that some people consider the 'real colour' of the dark night sky is a dark chocolaty brown. This picture seems to back this up.

Nice work Burt as always .
"I read some time ago that some people consider the 'real colour' of the dark night sky is a dark chocolaty brown." that is for Melbourne uphere its green at least thats what my photos are telling me .
Astronauts apparently say a deep purple I read someplace, and an old article(again I didnt note it) said greenish. I have never thought about it I must look at all that again and take it in this time.
Everything in your photograph is so crisp and it looks so realalistic (as one would like to look up and see it)
