Offers considered ~$1000 the lot - Meade SN10" scope, mount/tripod

I'm selling my MEADE Schmidt Newtonian 10" telescope with Ultra High Transmission Coatings including Meade LXD55 German equatorial mount with Autostar Controller (GoTo setup), MEADE Tripod and MEADE 26mm Super Plossl eyepiece. Package also includes original manual, 240V power cable, 12V wiring loom + sealed lead acid battery (for unplugged field use), original D-size battery pack holster and foam packing ends for the tube assembly.

I'm the first owner [paid over $3600 new for the kit] it's a great scope with beautiful optics & autostar setup. It's in very good condition - looking to sell quickly - so make me an offer!

Price doesn't include postage/handling - can be organised but buyer to pay costs.

Additional spec's for the scientific minded:

Optical Design: Schmidt-Newtonian
Clear Aperture: 10" (254mm)
Focal Length: 1016mm
Focal Ratio: f/4

Mounting: die cast aluminium

Alignment: Meade LXD55 German type equatorial mount
Slew speeds: 1x sidereal to 4.5 degrees/sec in 9 increments
Tripod: variable height aluminium field tripod
Accessories: 6x30mm finder scope, polar finder iluminated reticle, T-adaptor, Super Plossl 26mm eyepiece, 1.25" and 2" eyepiece holders, Battery pack for 8 D-cell batteries, Autostar controller, and 12v wiring loom and sealed lead acid battery (7AH).

That's a shame Lewis. Anyone else who hasn't just bought a CCD - feel free to make an offer and pick up a bargain. I'm a motivated seller!

Hi, would this unit be any good for AP I have a 9.25 SCT and Canon 450D. I would be looking at using the 450D on this unit, would it give nice images and if so what length of exposure do you think I may get out of it?

Yes, suitable for AP. have used it myself with Pentax K10D (DSLR) which I believe is slightly heavier - just a matter of ensuring the counterbalances are adjusted according to the additional weight. Used for up to 5 min exposures on Auto-tracking with minimal trailing, but like all AP, the shorter the exposures and more you take the better your final stacked image will be anyway. Haven't used the scope for AP since my last laptop crashed and burned, so no photos to share - but it can be done quite easily with this scope.
