Orion 102mm ED f/7 refractor

Decided to rationalise my gear, so some things are up for grabs.

REFRACTOR: 102mm ED refractor, f/7 (714 mm f.l.) It's a sweet refractor for casual visual observing, medium field astrophotography or digiscoping, and small enough to take travelling too. Has seen a fair bit of use so the vixen bar has some marks on it and the lens has some cosmetic marks on the coating (dew). Optically its perfect and yes, using a 5mm eyepiece on bright stars you will see a textbook diffraction pattern (unlike f/7 achromatic doublets).

The OTA paintwork is pearl white, unscratched, no dings and in near perfect condition as it has been stored in its box when not in use, comes with a Bintel 2" crayford focusser with 10:1 fine gearing, 2" star diagonal, a 1.25" eyepiece adapter, two tube rings and vixen mounting bar. Note that a finder is not included, though you can add one easily enough.

MOUNT: this is the ultimate in simplicity for a quick grab-n-go portable scope - a Skywatcher isostatic alt-az mount ('SkyTee') which is very steady, free of vibration. This is the version that has two Vixen dovetail mounts to carry one or two scopes side-by-side; and has screw clamps with friction clutches on both axes. Once the scope is balanced it moves very smoothly and stops with no shaking.

This mount is perfect for refractors up to 110mm and Maks or SCT's up to 180mm. My 180mm Mak is about the upper limit this can safely take; I would not suggest putting a 200mm SCT on it.

Will sell EITHER:
- Together: the refractor and the mount together for $700 OR
- Separately: $600 for the refractor, $100 for the mount.

Delivery - Collect in Sydney - I'm reluctant to send this via courier.

Cofiner hasn't responded so both the scope and mount are up for sale again.

Withdrawn - I'm off interstate for a short holiday. Later in the year maybe. In the meantime I'll use the OTA for something else.
