Thor's Helmet Nebula (HOO)

Hi all,


Recent (April) project with my AstroTech RC6 (decoupler plate added)



ATRC6 @ 1370mm FL
2600MM-Pro
SW EQ6R-Pro mount
Chroma RGB, 3nm Ha & Oiii filters


RGB: 20x60sec each
Ha: 24x1000sec
Oiii: 20x1000sec

Thats a ripper Doug!

Love the detail and some of the feinter outter nebulosity!
Colours look awesome too!

The focal length really works well for this target!

Cheers leon - I'm still plugging away at it, enjoying it again after a 10yr hiatus...closing in very rapidly on retirement so as Clint said "Man's gotta have a hobby!"

Awesome shot mate! Revealed some really deep extents but it doesn’t look forced. Really nicely processed.

An excellent rig for this project Doug. The core of the nebula looks to be exploding out of the scene. Thanks for sharing
