Norton's

I am trying to find somewhere in Australia that stocks the Norton's Star Atlas and Reference Handbook 20th edition (the latest) l already have the 18th and 19th which are a bit the worse for wear but would now like a new posh posey shiny edition of the hardback 20th edition so that I can fondle it in my old age.
I've been on this internet thingy but I can't find anybody who seems to stock it.
It is a wonderful book, It is like a dictionary really, once you start delving you can't stop.

Sorry about that. Some american sites are unnecessarily fussy, my words, about selling stuff abroad. NZ Post has set up postal addresses in the USA, UK, and Asia where we can send purchases to. NZ Post then bundles them up and forward on to NZ. Usually works a treat. I see AusPost don't seem to offer anything similar. From other comments I have read about them, I assume that customers are a major inconvenience.

Amazon saying they don't ship to Oz is odd. I bought a Nortons (18th ed, as new condition ) through them a few years ago, no problems.

You'd be right there, then they are wondering why they are loosing profit margin. Bloody accountants again

If you are patient David, excellent copies are available on ebay. I bought two copies of the 20th edition from ebay a while back which are in perfect condition.

Be aware that the two 20th editions come from different publishers somewhat like Rukl's moon atlas. If you read Ian Ridpath's editor's pages all will become clear. The links as follows :

http://www.ianridpath.com/books/nortonpage.htm

http://www.ianridpath.com/books/nortonpage2.htm

Hope you find this information useful.

I bought a brand new unopened copy of the 20th edition recently from angusrobertson via eBay for AU$40 including postage from USA .

It is not the Dutton printing but all the corrections are available readily.

Norton's

Thanks to everybody who has replied to this thread. I have followed up the suggestions to no account so I will concentrate on e-bay now.
I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to locate a bookshop both here and the U.K. and in every case the book has not been stocked or was out of stock. As for the Dutton imprint, that has taken on mythical properties in my mind. I'm almost minded to e-mail Ian Ridpath to ask him where I can buy his bloody book!

Norton's

Ken,
Can you tell me where you bought them , I am a Pom and after five years I still have a bank account in the UK or, failing that, I can put pressure on relations to do the decent thing. Even if you can only give me a clue I can take it from there. I've already tried Earth and Sky but their website is being updated, they were the people I used for books when I lived in the UK and they were wonderful.

Just to let you know I have just ordered from Abebooks.com in the US
It's the Dutton version hardback 20 th edition.
The price was $90 Aus which includes $41Aus postage.
Thanks to everybody.
Mamba
Bugger, I could have bought Urano Metria for $99Aus, equally I can get Stellerium for $0
