Problems with connecting DMK cameras on Windows 10
Hi everyone,
I have recently upgraded my imaging computer from Windows XP to 10. The issue that I am having with my DMK 21 & 41 cameras is that they refuse to work. They are both USB2 devices and I am given the message below at start up.
Error: Live Mode could not be started. Please make sure that no other program uses the device and that there is enough bandwidth on your firewire bus available.
I am on the understanding that USB 3 devices are backwards compatible with USB 2 when placed in the correct slot and so I am not sure what's going on.
Could anyone please give me some constructive advice on how to get these cameras working on this computer.
Thanks to all in advance.

Hi Eris,
You could remove the driver and re install the latest driver for the camera in Win 7 compatibility mode. Might just work.
Cheers,
Damien.

Eris,
I use both an DMK41 and DMK51 on my Win7 and Win 10 systems.
I think it needs the latest Imaging Source drivers and I know from experience that the DMK51 doesn’t like USB3 - it operates at 7.5 fps only.
I’ll check the settings for you and report back.

Eris,
Finally got to the observatory.
As I said I'm running a DM51 on a 60mm finder as an "electronic finder" and a DMk41 on a flip mirror for spectrograph acquisition, both on the C11/ NEQ6pro.
I normally use Firecapture to review the images (or PHD2)
Both are connected via a powered USB2 hub to the Win7 laptop.
The TIS software being used:
IC Capture V2.4
Drivers: 2.9.4.1923
(usbcam 2.9.4_tis file download)
Both cameras work OK, no issues, no drama.
If there's anything else I can check for you, let me know.

Thanks Ken and Damien. I'll give it a shot over the weekend and let you know the outcome.
