Thumbs up The DMK gets colour!

Well, sort of.

While it's true that my colour filters and mogg adapter have now arrived, I haven't actually done any RGB imaging yet. Although it was clear last night, it was my wife's birthday so there was no going outside!

What I've done here, is take the DMK mono image, and the ToUcam colour data, and overlayed them in photoshop and set the DMK image as the luminance layer and the colour data from the ToUcam image is used to colour it.

The images were taken a bit far apart (in time) to work perfectly (due to Jupiters fast rotation), but i'm still pleased with seeing the detail from the DMK image with fairly accurate colour!

Hopefully i'll get a chance to do some real RGB imaging tonight.

Thanks for looking.

So you did as you were told last night then, good on ya mate.
Nice shots, looks like they were done at the same time.
Can't wait for a decent night myself.

Hi Mike

Wow - that looks like a significant improvement using the Lum from the DMK. You're onto a winner here I reckon. Thanks for tipping me over the edge to a camera upgrade in the future…

Cheers

Dennis

PS - Happy Birthday to your wife, you did the right thing!

Great images Mike,

Good thing you are just easing us into the full potential of the DMK, because these alone are fantastic. The DMK can sure reveal the fine detail. All you need now is a good quality bino-viewer and shoot both at the same time??

I cannot emagine how good the RGB DMK shots will be after seeing these.

Simply mindblowing work Mike, even though it's not the full potential of the new cam, it looks awesome using the 2ucam colour instead.
You have certainly made us proud already and it's exciting to look to your future work with the new gear.

Also Happy Birthday Katie hope you got some nice pressies.

Just amazing, Mike! When you get the filters set up it will be like photographs from orbit.
