More to the point —— just be kinder to all the visual and armchair observers, is what I reckon.

Just a suggestion - why not include drawn images from visual observers in the coffee table book? Just a thought.
edit: I forgot to mention that I received my copy and I'm very happy with it. Wonderful images from everyone. I'm a bit sad that I didn't submit my moon image, but alas, I had other things on my mind at the time. I personally believe the format of the book, as is, was just right. The book was intended as a collection of images from IIS members. Nothing more and nothing less. It doesn't (imho) warrant reams of information - that was never its original design rationale.

I want to be involved too, beyond my contribution this year which was limited to writing the copyright statement!
I have no gripe that the Compendium was intended as a coffee table book by those who conceived and executed it this year. I fail to see how that origin should bind the IIS community when considering what it might produce next year.
If those interested in imaging want to take the same approach next year, and produce a volume which is a compilation of images only, it is important that those people understand that this has the effect of excluding those of us who do not image. I am not saying there was such an agenda this year, far from it.
Making suggestions about developing concepts is a healthy part of being a growing functioning community. Let's try to listen to each other rather than defend our own beachheads.

I've had my copy for a week or so now and I think that it's great. Nothing better than being able to pick up a book such as this one and flick through it.
Great photography, useful information, excellent production - well done team.
Chris
