Abell 24
Abell 24 is another faint planetary nebula on the less traveled path. This is also the first time I've ever imaged something in Canis Minor.
Cheers
Steve

Thanks Rick. No - the OIII was pretty weak.

Really nice Steve, I do wonder if that small blue star in the middle is a White Dwarf considering it's a planetary nebula.

Thanks Colin. Maybe someone that knows the theory better could clarify but I thought all planetary nebula central stars were white dwarfs?

It is true, it’s just whether that star there is the central white dwarf or not
It is an odd colour which is what sparked my interested but that can be caused by other processing techniques as well.

White dwarfs do emit a lot of short wavelength radiation (UV etc) so you would expect it to be bluish. Of course my colour balance could be out (not unusual).

Thanks Russell. No - Canis Minor is the one I've never done anything in. I've imaged lots of stuff in Canis major.
